What Does ASE-Certified Mean?

ASE stands for Automotive Service Excellence, and it has been a nationally recognized certification in the auto repair industry since the 1970s. Prior to then, vehicle owners weren't lucky enough to distinguish between untrained mechanics and professionally trained technicians. The non-profit National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) stepped in and established the certification.    The certification serves to improve repair and craftsmanship quality with a series of tests.
